A Poem of the Pharasee
Praise me, service me,
do what I ask, don’t question me…
I am a Pharasee.I am Faithful, I am True.
I am committed, what about you?
Each gem that I have stirs the light within me,
I shine more than anyone,
and I am Proud about me.
My Joy is in my children, who I have reared,
to be little Pharasees through Laws and guilt.
I was never out in the world to become comfortable with sin,
and my children understand there’s nothing to forgive.
I say my prayers aloud so the congregates can hear,
sometimes I am drawn to weep with tears.
I just cannot understand how people can sin,
such distaste keeps me clean; without and within.
My body, my home is a beacon of Light,
pristine and ruled by my authority, my right.
I pay my tithe and pity the poor,
I give of myself and am never torn…
between family and church or husband and more.
I am a master of committment and I have Proof to show,
my favor is with God…duh, didn’t you know?
I teach, I preach, have brought many to the altar,
my success is due to my inability to falter.
I need to be up front in my reserved seat,
so when we have specials and of course,
“certain” people to meet.
My needs are greater than anyone else,
for praise is my worship and I worship myself.
”How great is my Faithfulness”…
come now, sing along with me.
Come join me this week we have something special,
but don’t get in my way, I’ll be with the Intellectuals…
oh, don’t forget to bring a dish,
and if you aren’t able, don’t sit at my table.
My testimony will always be about ME,
about Me and more about Me…
I am the person you should model yourself to be!
Little white lies, and expired food a home filled with things…
there is just not enough room.
Secrets, secrets, more secrets I know,
you won’t find me telling,
let’s keep up with the show.
False Love and Pretenses are apart of my cloak,
my expectations are the hands around your throat.
I am quick on the draw, I’ll intimidate you fast,
come against me and I will bring up your past.
Don’t touch this annointed, for I am called upon by God,
and all the Faithful stand with me, Truly I am a Pharasee.
and PROUD OF IT.
